Etsy listing video requirements

Here’s what Etsy’s help center says, as of November 2026. Etsy can change these, so check its help page if something won’t upload.

Two things to watch

Length. Etsy’s help page says 3 to 15 seconds, but other Etsy seller guides say 5 to 15. Aim for 5 to 15 seconds and you meet both.

Shape. Etsy’s help page says 2:1 or 1:2 but doesn’t explain how other shapes are displayed. Add your video to a draft listing and check how it looks on both phone and desktop before you publish.

A simple setting to start with

MP4, 5 to 15 seconds, 1080 pixels on the short side, no sound needed. Since the video plays silently, make sure it makes sense without narration: show the item, how big it is and how it’s used.

If your video won’t upload

• Check it’s under 100 MB. Export it again at a lower quality if it isn’t.
• Trim anything over 15 seconds.
• Save it as an MP4 with H.264 video, the most widely supported option.

• Etsy tall: 1080 × 2160 (1:2), which follows Etsy’s stated ratio.
