How to make an Etsy listing video from a photo

You don’t need to film anything. Here’s how to go from one product photo to a video on your listing, and how to choose a photo that works.

1. Choose the right photo

2. Say how it should move

Describe what moves, not what the item is. Small, believable motion works best for products. Some ideas:

3. Pick calm or dynamic motion

The starting product photo: a black and gold candle
The photo
Calm motion, 5 seconds
Dynamic motion, 5 seconds

Here’s one photo with two settings. Calm stays steady with gentle movement. Dynamic moves the camera more. Five seconds is enough for most items, and you can choose 10.

4. Check the clip against your real item

Watch it all the way through and look closely at labels, text, shape and color, which is where AI video is most likely to change something. If it isn’t accurate, remake it or don’t use it.

5. Download and add it to your listing

  1. In Takefox, open Download for… and choose an Etsy format.
  2. In Etsy’s Listing Manager, open the listing and go to Photo and video.
  3. Upload the video and check the preview on both phone and desktop.

Common questions

Will the video have sound?

No. Etsy removes sound from listing videos, so Takefox’s Etsy downloads are silent.

Can I use it for commercial listings?

Yes, paid plans include commercial use. See our Terms for the details.

How long does it take?

Usually 1 to 5 minutes. You can close the page, and we’ll email you when it’s ready.

What if it comes out badly?

If the video fails to generate, your credits come back. If it comes out frozen, we remake it once for free. Our refund policy covers the rest.
